Alliance for Self-determination:

On 26 September, seven Dutch organisations working on women's rights and violence against women (a.o. honour related violence) joined themselves in the Alliance for Self-determination, and presented their Manifesto to members of Parliament.

The alliance for self-determination stands for individual rights, the individual freedom to choose, and social equality, in particular between men and women. To be able to combat opppressive practices and to promote self-determination and autonomy, an integrated approach on local, national and international level is needed. In this approach the emancipation of groups, the empowerment of individuals, adequate support and access to justice are closely connected. The Alliance advocates for an integrated approach in which the women, men and children who fight themselves free from hindering structures get the acknowledgement, protection and support they need.

Apart from the seven organisations in the Alliance, several other organisations support the Manifesto. Rights4Change is one of them.
